Blackjack is one of the most exciting games available in a casino, and nowadays everyone can enjoy the game from anywhere in the world. The problem is, not everyone knows how to play the game, and that is where learning some basic strategy becomes very helpful. The first thing that you must know is that to win in Blackjack, you must never go over 21. Getting as close as possible to 21 increases your winning potential and getting exactly 21 earns you an automatic win. Even though you will often be playing with other players at the Blackjack table, the goal is to beat the dealer. Fortunately, this is easily done when you understand a few basic strategies. Some of the best Blackjack strategists out there will tell you to be conservative when playing Blackjack. While the perfect hand is 21, many people win large sums of money on a regular basis without ever seeing that number in their hand. All that is required to win is to have a higher number than the dealer without going over. To use the casino strategies of the best Blackjack players out there, you will want to keep a couple of things in mind. One trick is to learn when to do certain things. In Blackjack, you have the option to stand, split, hit, and double down, and each of those decisions should be made depending on the cards in your own hand as well as those in the hand of the dealer. The most difficult part about this is the fact that you never see all the dealer’s cards until the round has come to an end. A way around this is to follow the soft or hard seventeen rule. Assuming the dealer’s hidden card is a ten, you should always try to beat whatever number he has. If he has an eight, for example, you should assume that he has an eighteen. If your cards show a soft seventeen (seventeen involving an Ace) you should request a hit because that ace can be counted as a one. If your seventeen does not include an ace, it is better to either stand or split.
